Bran Castle, reinforced by Vlad Dracula Tepes (the Impaler)
Bran Castle is situated in Transylvania, overlooking the passage towards Wallachia. It was built in 1377 with precise military and economic functions. Now, it is one of the most valuable architectural monuments in Romania and it is considered Dracula's Castle. There is no written evidence to support the claim that Vlad Dracula Tepes (the Impaler) ruled over the castle. However, it is certain that in 1462, the King of Hungary's army captured Vlad and imprisoned him in Bran Castle for almost two months.
